Tomorrow is Trip Day

Wednesdays are Trip Days at Woodcraft. On trip day we offer four or five options for campers. Canoeing the Moose River and climbing Bald Mountain are always available and always popular. Bald Mountain is a near-by hike suitable for all ages. The summit features a historic observation tower and excellent views of the Fulton Chain of Lakes and beyond. The Moose River borders camp property to the north and flows west towards Old Forge. The Mighty Moose is a great place to see local wildlife while practice bowman or sternsman skills in the canoe.

Campers also have the option of taking a mountain bike trip on one of the countless trails in the area, taking a short van ride to Black Bear Mountain or Rocky Mountain, orienteering in a trail-less portion of the forest, or arranging a trip specific to an age group -- such as a more difficult hike. Each trip is led by a group of counselors. They pack lunches and head out in the mid-morning. Trips return in time for an activity period before dinner.

Wednesday Trips are the perfect way to utilize our location in the Adirondack Park to introduce campers to the natural beauty surrounding them.
